The Return of Mario's Italian Kitchen

Chef Mario cooking with his mother in the kitchen

For years, Mario's Italian Kitchen was the kind of place people drove past three better-known towns to reach. The dining room was small, the pasta was made in-house, and the sauce recipes came straight out of Friuli Venezia Giulia by way of Mario's mother and grandmother.

In 2023 that chapter paused. Mario's health made it impossible to keep the dining room running, and the doors closed. What did not close was the recipe box. Every sauce, every dough ratio, every note scribbled in the margins stayed exactly where it belonged: in the family.

Today, through a partnership with Profit Cookers, those recipes are being cooked again in kitchens across the country. Same sauces, same standards, new way to get them to your table. Mario's is delivery-first now, which means the food travels to you instead of the other way around.

This blog is where we will share what is cooking: recipe stories, kitchen partner news, and the occasional argument about whether a carbonara should ever see cream. (It should not.)
